Hardware & Software Platforms

ASAP-CRS is designed to run on Windows NT/XP (or later). Your choice of Windows platform will depend on the speed of your PCs and the availability of printer drivers.

Platforms Supported

Networks

  • Novell Netware
  • Linux Data Servers (Final testing with Linux 2.4.x and SAMBA in final testing)
  • Microsoft Windows NT(SP4 or later)/XP or later

Local Operating Systems

  • Microsoft Windows XP- with all service packs installed.
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation with all service packs installed.
  • Microsoft Windows 98 (With restrictions) - not reccomended
  • Linux (setimated availability ib 2nd half 2004)

Note: Your choice of tagging printer may restrict platform choices

Novell/NT Server Requirements

  • AMD Athlon/Intel Pentium 2.0 GHz or better CPU
  • 512 MB RAM or more, 1GByte or more recommended
  • 2 GB disk space (mirroring required for security)
  • Tape Backup system
  • OS Suitable for serving Windows Clients (Linux, Novell, MS Server)

Data Server Requirements

We have previously tested a variety of ERP systems running on a variety of Data Servers. We should be able to interface to most systems Enterprise systems for which we have direct drivers or ODBC drivers.

  • Interbase (Version 5 +)
  • MS SQL (Version 6 +)
  • Oracle (Version 7.3 +)
  • Progress (Version 7 +)

We have also worked with PC based File servers and the following file based database managers

  • Paradox
  • Foxpro
  • MS Access
  • etc.

Scheduling Station Requirements

  • Intel Pentium/AMD Athlon 1.5GHz or better CPU
  • 128 RAM or better
  • 80GByte hard drive (or larger) recommended
  • 17" SVGA Monitor (or larger) running 1024x768

Tagging Station Requirements

  • Intel Pentium/AMD Atlon etc. 500MHz or better CPU
  • 128 MB RAM or better
  • 80 GByte or more hard drive recommended to accomodate data storage and other applications
  • 15" SVGA Monitor - running 1024x768 resolution or better

Note: Detailed specifications available on request.

Printers Supported

We should be able to work with any labelling printer that has Windows printer drivers. If you wish you can make your printer available for compatibility testing.

Note: Bar Coding requires that BAR Code Fonts be available. These may be included with some printer software, but may be an extra cost item with some printer models.
